Two of my favorite Packers, Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews, at the Rolling Stone LIVE Party on 1 February 2013.
Donald Driver announced on 31 January 2013 that he’ll be retiring from the Green Bay Packers. There is a ceremony for him at the Lambeau Field Atrium today. Driver had a humble start, but proved himself many times over on the field. His name is among the greats. He also retires as one of the best receivers ever to don a Packers uniform. Here’s an unofficial list of the franchise records he holds:
Most receptions (743)
Most receiving yards (10,137)
Most 1,000-yard seasons (seven, a record six of them consecutive from 2004-09)
Most 50-catch seasons (nine, also a consecutive record from 2002-10)
Most consecutive games with a reception (133)
Most receptions at Lambeau Field (363)
Most receiving yards at Lambeau Field (5,000)
He not only retires a Packer, but a DWTS Champion as well!!
Donald had so much class. Along with his wife, Benita, they donated much of their time and even their money to the Donald Driver Foundation which helps pay children’s hospital bills and housing to the homeless. He also donates to many local charities.
You WILL be missed “Quickie”….Godspeed!!
Green Bay Packers TE Tom Crabtree, #83, leaps over Minnesota Vikings cornerback A.J. Jefferson (#24) during their NFL NFC wildcard playoff football game in Green Bay, WI on 5 January 2013.
The Packers have voted for and selected their six captains for the 2012 postseason.
They are QB Aaron Rodgers and WR James Jones on offense, LB Clay Matthews and DB Charles Woodson on defense, and DB Jarrett Bush and LB Jamari Lattimore on special teams.
