Gregory Peck and Bette Davis prepare for a radio performance of Now, Voyager in 1946.
Not only are they 2 of my favorite stars, but they did this radio performance together. They also share the same birthday. Happy Birthday to Ruth Elizabeth “Bette” Davis (5 April 1908-6 October 1989) and Eldred Gregory Peck (5 April 1916-12 June 2003)!!
Happy Birthday to that “girl-next-door”, Doris Day!! She was born Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff and turns 89 years young today (04/03/1924). Doris has appeared in 39 films and has 29 albums. Although retired from acting, she remains active in animal welfare programs.
Happy Anniversary to Clark Gable and Carole Lombard!! They met while filming No Man of Her Own in 1932, but they were both married at the time. They met again in 1936 and were inseparable. Carole became Clark’s 3rd wife on 29 March 1939. She was the first female war-related casualty of WWII.
Elizabeth Taylor was hospitalized more than 70 times and had about 20 major operations in her lifetime. Most of her health issues arose during times of problems in her personal life. Liz always seemed to come out on top though and was often an inspiration to others. However, 2 years ago today (23 March 2011), she lost the battle and died at age 79. She’s still missed today and will forever be the reigning beauty of Hollywood!!
